New Interim Superintendent
Board votes on selection of Dr. Jackson Parker
The RUSD Board of Education's Interim Superintendent Search Committee recommended to the School Board on September 24 that they appoint Dr. Jackson Parker as Interim Superintendent. A majority of Board members approved of the appointment.
Dr. Parker currently works at Cardinal Stritch College in their Masters in Educational Leadership Program. He recently worked as Chair of the professional Programs in Education at UW-Green Bay’s Institute for Learning. Dr. Parker was Superintendent of School for the Burlington Area School District from 1989-1997. From 1963-1989 held a variety of positions in Racine Unified. He is particularly well known for his work in Racine as co-founder and principal of Walden III.
Dr. Parker has been a consultant, speaker, and workshop facilitator and has published numerous articles and one book. He has lived in Racine County for more than 30 years and has served on many community boards. Dr. Parker was inducted into the Southeastern Wisconsin Educators Hall of Fame in 1994.
